Our Village
The story of West Kilbride was published by the Society in 1990. Much of the information collected for this book has been handed down from generation to generation.
The purpose of the book was to preserve this material and present it in a form that will appeal primarily to young people of school age in the village, and also to their elders.
Its real aim is to stimulate in young people an interest and pride in their village, and arouse in them a concern for its future.
West Kilbride, Seamill, Portencross & thereabouts
A highly acclaimed Guidebook published by the Society in November 2002.
158 pages of facts of the area and a considerable number of previously unpublished photographs. This has been a popular publication with all 1200 copies sold and now sadly out of print.
Old West Kilbride - A Collection of Photographs
This book contains a fascinating collection of old photographs, maps and documents. It tells the story of West Kilbride over the last 100 years and more. It reveals the changes that have taken place over those years in the buildings, the people, their dress and their social life. The book was produced in 1983 by the Amenity Society and was made possible by the enthusiastic and overwhelming response to the request for photographs and documents by many local people to whom the Amenity Society wish to express sincere thanks.
